Long Long ago,there were two big mountains. Taihang mountain and Wangwu mountain.

These two tall mountains were very close to each other. They blocked the way for the villagers to get out of the valley.

At the foot of the mountain lived an old man named Yu Gong. He was more than 90 years old. He had to take a hard detour to get out every time to leave the valley.

One day, Yu Gong called his family together and said, "The two mountains are too much in the way.Let's work together to move them apart."

His wife said,"Don't dream of it, old man.We can't even shovel a small mound with our own strength. How can we move two big mountains? And what about all the dirt and stones?"

Yu Gong said,"Don't worry, we can move the dirt and stones to the seaside."

Then Yu Gong led his three strong sons and moved the dirt and stones to the seaside.

Hequzhisou laughed and said, "You are not smart, you are so old. You have not much strength left, how can you move mountains?"

Yu Gong said,"You are so stubborn that you are worse than a child.Even if I die,I have sons, my sons also have sons.The mountain will not get higher, over time, we can move it."

Yu Gong stayed with his family and moved the mountains every day and night, never taking a break.

One day, the god of the sky was flying and saw this scene. He went back and told the Heavenly Emperor. The Emperor was very moved and thought Yu Gong's spirit was commendable, so he sent his two sons to move the mountains.

When they came to the front of the ill, each of them picked one up and moved it away.

From then on,there was a plain in front of Yu Gong's house,and the road was clear.
